Refrigerator inside light.

The inside light for our refrig does not turn on when opening the door. I have checked the bulb and the filiment is not broken. The connections also look ok, both at the bulb and at the switch that turns it on and off. Is it possible that the switch has gone bad and is there a way to check the switch. The refrigerator itself is working fine.
