I just got over a really rough sickness where for 3 days I could barely do anything but lay down, although even laying down was very uncomfortable. I had back and neck pain, irritable skin, a throbbing headache whenever I would sit up, a shooting pain in my eyes when I had to move them around... just a whole body ache that was reminiscent of the flu (although it's mid-July).
We have many ticks in our backyard and this season I've pulled off probably 6 or more using tweezers. Never found bulls eye rash.
My primary doctor told me that if it was Lyme, the initial symptoms would stay around a lot longer than a few days. Is this a correct assumption??
He me prescribed a Lyme titer just to be sure. He also prescribed Doxycycline if I wanted to start taking it before the results of the titer came back. Given the reliability of titers in diagnosing Lyme, should I just start the Doxycycline regardless of the test result??
