Pipe Insulation to Help with Water Pump Noise

vendredi 3 avril 2015

After filling my water system the 1st time after pulling my AS out of winter storage, I noticed the pump was extra noisy due to some of the pipes vibrating. I winterized my plumbing system by blow out the water with compressed air from my air compressor connected to the water connection.

I decided to purchase one length of 1/2" foam pipe insulation. There seems to be a mass of PEX pipes around the water pump in my Classic 25fb and some of them were touching each other or against drain pipes and the wheel well. I cut short sections of insulation and placed them on the pipes at these contact points. Usually 2" to 4" are enough. This seems to have reduced vibration noise.
