2006 Bambi Quik Silver 16ft

samedi 31 mai 2014

Two weekends ago we finally took our first trip, after sitting in the barn for nine years, in our Quik Silver Bambi. We bought it Nov 2005, and parked in our building where it has been unused since new. Had to do the usual, new tires (sucky 14 inch Carlisles), a new battery and removed the plastic wrap from the mattress and peeled the plastic film off frig door. It's tight with two adults and two medium sized dogs, but all went well. On the way home, I rode in the trailer for two miles to see how it travelled ( no lectures about riding in trailer, plz). Found the ride to be very animated, meaning noisy and bouncey. Granted for highway travel of 62 mph, the new tires had 56 psi, subsequently have lowered them to the max if 50 psi load range "C". Checking the running gear after we got home, it struck me oddly, that our Quik Silver has NO shocks. Visited our local A/S dealer crawling under new single axle trailers, they all had shocks. Called Jackson Center-Randy-tech support, he said the engineers had spec'd our trailer with NO shocks.

Question----Any other single axle late model 16 footers have SHOCKS?? I feel with the weeny 3500 lbs rated axle, on 14 inch wheels/ 10 inch brakes, and being an "International" level trim, Bambi should have received all the goodies
