Hey guys, I'm having a little bit of trouble getting the multiply and insert functions to work properly. Maybe it's an issue with Quantization settings? Not sure exactly what's wrong.
First off, it's probably important to note that I'm running Mobius as a VST in Logic 9, and sending it commands via MIDI PC's.
I'll try to be clear what I'm attempting to do; Essentially, I want to use Mobius to piece together a new phrase (to be used later in the song) from a previous phrase in a performance. Imagine the original phrase as such: (numbers indicate musical bars)
1---2---3---4---5---6---7---8---9---10---11---12---
What I want to do is, record bar 2, "Multiply" it x4, then "Insert" bars 9-12 at the end of that. So the new phrase would, as a loop comprised of those bars, look like this:
2---2---2---2---9---10---11---12---
The problem I'm having is what to tell Mobius to do during bars 3-8. When I give the multiply command, it starts playing the loop, in it's multiplied form, from the second cycle. THAT ends up throwing off the point of Insert by one bar. Also, Insert is occurring a bar AFTER I give the command, and stopping a bar later as well. Is that just some weird aspect of the Insert function?
I've tried using pauses to stop the loop between the Multiply command and the Insert command, but that ends up affecting the starting point of playback when I bring the loop back in.
I'm relatively new to this stuff, and I realize a lot of this is just growing pains, but I figure once I get the basics I'll be able to understand the rest a lot better. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
