We have a 1970 25' Caravanner which we have gutted to reconfigure to better suit our family. We're reworking the rear bath to a split, mid bath, building bunk beds across the back, and creating a dinette across the front similar to the newer 25' models. It's a big job as we are removing the interior walls to replace the wiring and insulation, and removing the floor to clean and repair the running gear as needed. We expect this will take at least a year to complete.
In the meantime we've run across a 2002, 27' Safari with a rear queen bed that we think we can make minimal revisions to and use while we work on the 1970. Ultimately we we sell the 2002 and keep the 1970.
Have those of you who've owned an early 2000's Airstream been satisfied with the quality of the unit?
Thanks! Amy
