1969 Overlander Wing Window Repair

my boyfriend and I recently purchased a 1969 overlander with a broken drivers side (road side?) wing window. We have been reading that it could save a lot of money to use an alternative model window without the squared bottom edges and apply some manner of metal patch..



we cannot however locate any helpful step-by-step instructions or which window models / metal materials might be compatible with this project.



any helpful hints on where to look for this specific information?



anyone undertaken this particular type of repair before and have some insider info or advice?
