Curious if there is a way to pause a script that is going through a long wait statement?

wait loop 40
next

it would be nice to have another script/function that would pause the "wait loop 40", and when pressed again would pickup where you left off.
This is probably fantasy land as scripts may only be able to run from the beginning, not to mention you have to determine which script to pause, but thought I'ld ask anyway. ;o)
