Title: 1976 Airstream Argosy 22 - Texas
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
will consider trade for 4x4 suburban or other 4wd SUV. I was in the process of restoring a 1976 22 feet Airstream Argosy dual axle here's what I've done so far.
- replaced the whole floor with 3/4 blonde wood from Lowes and Marine Epoxied the whole floor (not just the edges.
- tires are only a year old
- the whole frame has been rust-proofed and then primed with rustoleum.
- The whole interior panels have been removed to expose all the wiring. All the fiber glass has been removed.
- two brand new ABS plastic wheel wells.
- brand new brake wiring has been run but not connected until later when I would attach the new belly skin.
- And a bunch of other stuff in the restoration process.
- the door and door frame has been removed when the flooring was completely redone.
- The rear grey water tank has been re-installed but no plumbing.
- I have all the parts from the interior in my garage that was salvageable so you get all of it too.
- fixed a bunch of leaks in the ceiling.
- This is towable but you will need some temporarily magnetic brake lights.
Also, I have a used but working john deere 210 tractor with a tow attachment that I use to move the airstream around the house. It does not have the lawn deck attachment since I sold that off but if you buy another one you can reattach one.
I was planning to convert it to an all electric configuration possibly with solar panels but due to a job change I don't have much time to work on this project anymore. First, person to offer me $3000 for it gets it. I've put in at least $2500 of parts and supplies into this so basically selling it at a loss. This airstream is near Frankfort and preston in far north dallas / almost plano if you would like to come see it in person. I can send you a couple pictures but realistically you need to come inspect it for yourself to see if you want it. I have the title. thanks
