Tuboovarian abscess OR appendicitis, some sort of abscess

samedi 18 juillet 2015

I'm posting this here because my doctors are unsure whether this is a tuboovarian abscess or an abscess of the appendix. They can't differentiate between the right fallopian tube and appendix in CT scans, or in ultrasounds. Something was inflamed and enlarged and my symptoms were severe, severe groin/abdominal pain (my entire stomach when the pain was really bad, and I mean the worst pain I've ever experienced). I get ovarian cysts so one doctor thought it could be either a bad tube, or a cyst that became infected. I was treated for a bad infection (sepsis at first but only by protocol; it wasn't actually sepsis because they caught it early).

Strong antibiotics and 5 days in the hospital started reducing the inflammation, but the pain is beginning to come back…not bad, but there. It scares me and I don't know what this is. Please help if anyone's experienced anything like this or has any idea. For a while I thought I was getting UTIs, then ovarian cysts—antibiotics would help and pain medication would help, but they have been worse and worse. It feels a little like period pain but severe, like gas pain and my stomach was rock hard when the doctor felt it when there was a large abscess.

I've been to the ER multiple times for severe abdominal pain. I shouldn't have Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, because I don't have any STDs. The ovary shows up okay, but the tube (or intestines, they couldn't tell) was very inflamed. My white blood cells were elevated, blood pressure low, fever, and tremors from the pain, couldn't stand it. Couldn't move and couldn't stand up straight for a few days.
