Sinus headache caused by GERD?

dimanche 19 juillet 2015

Hi, I've been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, which is probably why I cough constantly and spit out mucus. I often have to excuse myself to cough, which is quite embarrassing. Anyway, for 15 years I've had constant sinus pressure that sometimes becomes sinus headache, along with fatigue and a sense of head heaviness and "brain fog". I've tried to attack the face/head problems by allergy shots, diets, acupuncture, etc., etc. with no improvement. Most recently a neurologist told me I had "Chronic Daily Headache", which seems to me more of a description than a solution. He based this on what I said rather than any evaluation of me. So far he's given me a tricyclic antidepressant and later a beta blocker, but the sinus headaches persist.

So..my question is, could all these sinus problems be caused by LPR, which is probably what my hiatal hernia is creating? Or would LPR only be a smaller factor, for which the larger factor is something else? Thanks for any advice!
