I am slated to undergo an esophageal ph test when my insurance company approves it. I have read enough and believe that I will not be able to go through with it. I have a terrible gag reflex issue and have trouble swallowing at times. The thought of this tube being inserted into my nose and down my throat totally freaks me out and I don't want to go through with it.
Is there any other test that can test your ph level WITHOUT having this tube inserted down your throat...while you sit there...awake...and try to deal with it?
I am also having a visit with the pulmonologist and allergy testing, and hope to find something out from these visits without having the other test.
