We just listed our 1979 Airstream Sovereign for Sale on Airstream Classifieds.

1979 Airstream 31’ International Sovereign Land Yacht (HEAD TURNER)

Matching factory Serial Number plate: I31-T9J-1321
Weight: factory was 4,800lbs

Title in hand
Currently located in Oxford, AL
Don’t know really where to beginning except I bought this to live while on government contracts. I think I’m the 3rd owner and have the title in hand.
I’m not a Airstream expert so if you ask me a question, I most likely will not know the answer. It is largely original and nothing in 1979 was perfect so it is sold as is.
Upgrades/remodel before I bought it:
- 55amp electric power converter w/ Plexiglas enclosure
- 2 new large batteries
- electric front hitch jack
- Laminate floor throughout
- PEX water piping (99% throughout)
- some interior wood wall replacements
- Weight Reduction hitch
- Limo tent throughout
- new keys for every exterior lock
- aftermarket RV furniture in living room
Upgrades/remodel I did:
- CLEANED the hell out of it
- removed aftermarket RV furniture in living room
- Microwave
- 2 normal size twin beds with Memory Foam tops
- some LED lighting
- repainted the original bathroom to Espresso and white
- décor obviously
- new sewage drain
- new water hook up hose
WHAT I know works:
- everything….I live full time in it
- I have not used or tested the gas water heater or shower (don’t need to since my RV park is nice and has everything here) Last owner used it regularly.
- I do not use the stove or oven but tested it a month ago…worked fine
- Refrigerator is ice cold…original Dometic Royal RM100 gas/electric….currently on electric
- exterior lighting when hooked up works (tail lights and blinkers)
- AC seems to work just fine…but I haven't had it on obviously in a few months due to winter
Some things could be fixed or replaced, but I like it the way it is, everything else is up to you if you want it “perfect.â€
