Putting 1973 stabilizer jacks on a 1960

I have 4 1973 stabilizer jacks from a scrapped Airstream. I want to put them on my 1960 Overlander. Has anybody done this? I found a thread a couple of years ago posted on how to do it, but now I cannot find it. The thread if I remember correctly said get a big magnet and run it on the underbelly to find a cross member to anchor the stabilizer into. I remember the thread reading you could not anchor them like they were on the 1973. Any advice would be appreciated.
