Title: 1991 Airstream Excella 29 - Missouri
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
Our trailer has always been stored inside a building since it was new. Original carpet has never been shampooed, only vacuumed. Clear coat, stripes, window curtains, couch, powered roof vents, etc., are all original, and in near perfect condition. The factory applied red tape on the awning latch is one piece of evidence of the overall condition. Our trailer had very little use when we acquired it several years ago, so as a preventative maintenance item, I ordered new factory spec axles, powder-coated with large brakes. I also have the brakes, and backing plates that came off the original axles that are in great shape. This upgrade might not have been necessary, but torsion axles loose their elasticity if they have not been properly exercised (driven). This translates the shock of the road to the trailer, and can shake it to the point of breaking heads off interior rivets that hold the interior panels to the frame, and many other bad things. Many Airstreams have compromised (rotten) floors. Our trailer's condition is consistent throughout the entire unit, near perfect. I can provide additional pictures on request to demonstrate. Most Airstreams have had the entry door handle replaced because of so much use. Ours as everything else is original, and works perfectly. All cabinets have the factory applied plastic over the carpet, including the outside storage compartment. Most trailers advertise ready to use condition, which may be true. Ours is that, and so much more. When camping, our doorbell (yes that also works as well) often rings with a request for us to show our camper. I usually end up in a friendly argument when they ask what year it is. No one believes it is a 1991. All systems, a/c, water heater, fridge work perfectly. The oven has never been used, and looks new. The toilet is original, and has the instruction stickers on the inside of the lid. The only reason we are selling is that we bought a motorhome.
