New User-196? Overland

mercredi 1 avril 2015

Hi everyone,

I just picked up a 196? Overland. (042 S 5110 6312 Stamped underneath)I think it's a 64 since the side lights and entrance lights match to that model. I hope to post some pictures showing the serial number.

The guy I bought it from gutted it, cut the back out and used it to haul motorcycles. It needs a lot of love but I am pleased with the overall condition. He replaced the sub floor due to water damage and left me a pile of flooring as well as a gas/fridge combo. I'm thrilled that all the windows are in tact with the side lights and hub caps.

I may consider leaving out a bathroom and shower and keep the ramp in back to move my PA equipment when I travel to music festivals. I'll look for camp grounds with showers and bathrooms. I plan on making the kitchen area very generous in size as well since I intend to process honey from my bee hives and I also love to cook.

My first set of priorities is to deal with any wiring issues for the lights and fans and any potential leaks on the roof. I also need to fix the under carriage aluminum. Complete restoration is not in my budget but I do want to make it functional and as comfortable as possible. I may consider a window shaker AC unit or a Dyson AC/Heater combo. As of now it's a glorified tent. :-) Suggestions are much appreciated.
