So I've been bashing my head against this for about four hours now - perhaps I'm missing something fundamental about how loop switching works?
With mobius synced to a DAW host, what I want to do is:
- Record the chorus bit into loop 1
- Hit 'Next Loop' or some workaround script and trigger the next empty loop to start recording as soon as that cycle ends of the cycle
- Record the verse bit into loop 2.
So I quickly have two loops of different length I can perform over, just by playing them through in sequence once at the beginning of the song.
By my understanding, with "Empty Loop Action" set to record, this ought to be possible, but the snag I've found is that once I've recorded another bit into loop 2, I can't find a function that will actually cease the recording. The bar counter (that displays the number of the current cycle) never advances past (1/1) and anything I try to trigger short of resetting the whole track just queues up - hitting record or overdub just stacks the commands like I'm in confirm mode.
I've even tried writing a script that does this manually, but any solution I can find that has the desired result - switching from recording on one loop to immediately recording on the next one - has the same behavior.
Syncing the track to 'none' or another track instead of to the host seems to function as intended, but is there something better I'm missing? With what I'm playing, doing this with more than one button press (or a double-tap) would be super difficult.
