Title: 1979 Airstream Argosy 27 - Florida
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
The Airstream Argosy was a lighter weight trailer made in the 70's and early 80's. This one is 4070 lbs. Quite light for her size. Argosys are painted, which is fun, different and cheaper than frequently getting the silver ones polished. We named her Pearl. We love her but with our very young children we have not camped like weâd hoped. We are going to try to revive our airstream dream with another one once the kiddos are a little older. Our loss is your gain. :)
We have title in hand. She has new electrical, battery and propane tanks installed by rv dealership. Interior cleaned & painted with Bin primer and Sherwin Williams kitchen & bath (color- Heron Plume). Shower and vanity painted with 2 part tub epoxy paint. New vinyl flooring. New thermal curtains. New mattresses from IKEA. A/c is cold. We have not used the oven or pulled out the awning but were told they work. She needs a new water pump and black water tank (although told toilet works hooked up to sewage); both run around $100. We have not replaced the tires, I feel they are ok for Florida but youâll want new for a big trip. The bathroom floor has a soft spot and eventually you'll want to repaint the exterior. There is a dent in the back and the back bumper is wonky as pictured. She isnt perfect yet but is on her way. New bedspreads and pillow covers in Duralee fabric. Sheâs a glamper. We went camping- pulling her was a breeze and we had a great time. You could also turn her into a food truck or shop. It took me 2 years on Craigslist to find one in South Florida. Season is starting! The keys are calling. Grab her while you can! :)
