After storing our Airstream under cover for the first year behind our house we decided to add power. We could plug in like at a park, keep the batteries charged and operate all systems as a check before heading out on the road. After installing the underground wiring( by the power company) and having an electrician install the meter base and power box, we went to the county inspector so we could have the power activated. We were then told a septic system was required because we might decide to live in it behind our own house. They now tell us an "outhouse" with a 4 foot hole in the ground will qualify. Has anyone else run into zany county rules?
