To clearcoat or not clearcoat

I've removed the clearcoat from the taillight housings and bumper on our 2006 19' Bambi. They look great. But now what to do? Should I have them clearcoated or should I just leave them the way they are and apply some sort of wax several times a year to keep them looking good? What do you think? My concern about clearcoating is that it might will fail again and I will have to go through the process of removing it again.

I did talk to Airstream technical service today and the guy I talked with did not have a strong recommendation either way.
