What a GOOD Idea

mardi 18 novembre 2014

I've had my EB for well over a year, and today while taking the propane tanks to be filled I just noticed something great left behind by the prior owner.

As I opened the lid of the propane cover there on the underside was the information on the proper PSI for tire inflation, the proper torque for the lug bolts, the wrench/socket sizes for the lug bolts, and so on. He even had a set of numbers that on closer examination were codes for replacement keys! Additionally there was a reminder to put grease in the Hensley zerk fitting, and what to use to lubricate the steps and stabilizer jacks. All were neatly done on a label gun. A few things applied to his tow vehicle that aren't right for mine (He'd listed the "correct height to hitch" from the ground to the bottom of the Hensley. My tow vehicle is obviously a bit lower to the ground. One label came out.) An orderly mind - I know the former owner was a doctor.

It's a great cheat sheet. I'm amazed I didn't notice it before. I open the lid every time I go through a local tunnel and it's hard to leave this area without going through one, and I have refilled the tanks once or twice. If I ever let my sister use it I'll point everything on it out to her.

Thanks Doc, wherever you are. Of the many mods you made to the trailer, I think this is gonna be the "best value for the buck" one.
