I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
1983 Airstream Excella, gutted, clean, good shape
We are selling our awesome 1983, 31’, (coveted) center bathroom model Airstream Excella. It has been completely gutted and cleaned out, saving a lot of time and effort for the buyer who is ready for an excellent project trailer! This is perfect for someone who would like to open a business or build their dream trailer for camping/full-timing/creating a guesthouse or AirBnB/VRBO situation!
We are selling it in the exactly the same condition it was purchased for (at $3,000) for $2,800.
This trailer is in good condition for its age. The frame and subfloor are solid, the skin is in decent shape (and partially polished on the sides, all the way around, to get an idea of potential), with the exception of one small tear, about 3 inches, that would need patching.
Tires will need to be replaced soon, and possibly for the relocation if you are planning to travel far- we have not moved the trailer, nor changed them out since the purchase, and one tire for sure will need to be inflated or replaced in order for it to be moved- the buyer will need to come prepared for this situation (we purchased it with the tire in the same condition, inflated it, and it got us safely home after a 3 hour drive).
All of the windows and coverings have been removed for replacement or renovation, and are stacked inside the trailer. They will need work to be useable again. Also inside are the external decals that were removed for the rebuild project. The trailer has been tarped for storage/kept dry.
The reason for the sale is a lack of time and money for the project after changes in plans for the both of us- there were no surprises after the purchase of the trailer, we just simply don’t have the space to do with it what we planned- better that it go to a good home!
To relocate, you will need: tow vehicle with proper hitch (2 5/16â€), set of temporary signal lights and method to secure them (magnetic best, probably) to the trailer for safe driving, and the equipment/time/resources to determine whether you will need to put new tires on or inflate the flat tire.
Only serious inquiries, and be prepared to pay asking price (we are aware of what it is worth, will patiently wait for the right buyer, and would prefer not to spend our time on someone who is planning on attempting to talk us down significantly from the get-go).
