Hi all. This my first post here, but Ive been playing with a hardware EDP and Mobius for quite a few years now, with the occasional post on Loopers Delight back in the day.
Anyway, lately Ive had time to be tinkering with OSC with Lemur on an ipad, and Mobius as a plugin with Bidule, with some success even if stability is not 100%. So far ways have been found to make the Mobius function buttons work, input/output faders, feedback level, track selection, even an audio level meter including a sort of clipping led on the Lemur display.
However Im having having difficulty with the loopLocation OSCWatcher. Ive edited the osc.xml file with a mobius/1/loopLocation path for the loopLocation OscWatcher name but no joy. Monitoring via Wireshark shows no output related to loopLocation at all, no matter what variations I try.
On the other hand a loopStart OSCWatcher set up the same way works quite well to a Lemur led, although my semi-educated ears would put the OSC related delay via WiFi at maybe something around 150-200 ms, which is less than ideal.
I actually have lots of questions on the topic of OSC and mobius, but Ill leave at this for the moment.
Also, are there others trying this particular approach with Lemur out there? Maybe there is a better way. Id like to avoid hassling with OSCBindings mappings etc with TouchOSC if I could, and I think Lemur gives more customisation options including scripting.
The aim is to make a fully customised set of ipad tabs to make live looping-based performance more flexible, still using Midi volume pedals and probably a midi footswitch as well. I use an FCB1010, but boy are those switches mechanically clunky, compared to the old EDP ones anyway!
Setup:
imac, Mavericks 10.9.3
Bidule 0.9737 (run as 32bit)
Mobius 2.5 AU plugin (OSCWatchers dont seem to work with VST at all)
ipad air osx 7.1.1
Lemur 5.03
Thanks for any help
Ray.
