Hey,
While using Möbius a bit,i must say i liked the options and customization ability of the software, and see room for a lot more potential here
So i have a few ideas to make it an even more advanced and comfortable experience as a looper that i wanted to share here,
when i come up with another one i might add it to this thread too
1st ,concerning the UI,I would believe a 'scale' function for the track panels would be a big +,so that when a lot of tracks are used, they don't eat up eachother's panels, this would make a more clear visual experience
When many tracks are used, and the scaling becomes too small or uncomfortable for the users, have a 'track page switch', wich switches to the next page of tracks at command,at how many tracks this is necessary and with what button this happens could be incorporated in the customization/personalization features of Möbius so users can change it to their tastes
2ndly,
A small straight line/timebar and changeable tempo counter in the middle, top or bottom of mobius would improve handling visually, as well as standalone capabilities, let me elaborate:
In this timeline, that mobius plays trough as if it was an empty loop about 128 bars in length we have a locked starting point, from wich recording would be initiated and we can set an endpoint at the bars of our choosing,at wich it punches out
Möbius, while in playback, when given a certain record command,by mouse, keyboard or midi plays until the endpoint ,and then starts recording at the starting point until the endpoint specified
If another command is given while recording this loop, mobius will record another loop seamlessly when it passes the startpoint again
More experimental: on top of this global timeline ,there can be small timebars under and linked to each track, wich can specify wether : if short loop is on track and timebar is set to loop lenth, short loop repeats for duration of the global timeline,if the timebar is as long or half the length of the timeline, loop repeats only when its timebar cycle begins again
or the opposite, when a long loop's timebar is halved,or shortened further, loop wil rythmically stutter at specified bars
3rd
this i do not view as important as the previous options, but interesting enough to mention,is having a very small long winding sequencer matrix wich can automate certain loops when users so desire,
if for instance someone wants to automate bridges, intervals or choruses to play after a desired amount of time they can specify so in the 'sequencer'
and all the while recording part or improvising and play with the loops without losing the direction they want their song to be going.
