Multiple loops single tracks

Hi guys, I tried to look for a topic like this but I didn't find anything...
I'm trying to use multiple loops in a single track and this is what happens:
I record a loop (not in the master track)
I record loop number 2
I come back and play loop number 1 and Mobius plays it just once, then the loop is deleted
Same with loop number 2

I cannot play a loop more than once if I have multiple loops on a track
Anyone with a suggestion?

Hi,

Yesterday, I added a couple of buttons, namely 'Start Recording' and 'Stop Recording'.

Do these actually do anything? I pressed start before a short session, then stop, but cannot find the resultant wav file anywhere. I repeated this, followed by 'Save Loop' from the main file menu. Again, nothing.

Recording activity possible ?

(short version) I've got stand-along Mobius working and it's recording my guitar that's plugged into the USB audio interface. However, I'd like to record keyboard sounds/samples from an Ableton instrument.

Setup:
- Windows 10
- Lenovo Thinkpad T530
- Audio Interface: Steinberg UR22 - plugged into USB
- Speakers plugged into the UR22 outputs
- MIDI keyboard AKAI MPK 225 - plugged into USB
- Ableton 9 Lite (this is 64 bit running in a separately)
- Guitar is plugged into a UR22 input 1

I'm running Mobius and Ableton separately. I can hear sounds from instruments in Ableton. I can record loops into Mobius from my guitar plugged into the UR22.

I've tried a number of track and configuration settings but can't figure out how to route the sounds from the MIDI keyboard (Ableton) into Mobius.

Or .... am I doing this all wrong? Does Mobius need to be loaded as a VST in order to use sounds in Ableton? In which case, I guess I'd need to reinstall Ableton 32-bit?

Hi. I am totally new to mobius and looping, my plan is to plug my semi - acoustic in to a guitar usb interface intomy laptop, along with a three pedal footswitch and record 4 [max] loops per track. I downloaded Mobius 2 but cannot understand how to work it. Nothing in the button area seems to work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone! First newbie question: I need two channels to have different time signatures, I read the starting guide but I couldn't understand how to do this, basically channel one should play 5 beats (subcycles if I understood correctly) and channel two to play 7 but when I try to do it, channel 2 plays like 10 beats, I mean that it plays the 7 beats that I recorded and then 3 of silence but I need it to reach 7 and go back. Is this possible? How is this done? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,

I've been reading all the documents and threads of circular labs and searching other websites and youtube but I still have no clue of how to do this in ableton live (or even knowing if it's possible).

I want to separate the 4 tracks in mobius in 4 different tracks in ableton live to apply different fxs and instruments in each one.

My objective is to have 4 separate mobius loop tracks in ableton and obviously control their recording/playing with mobius.

I've put the plugin outputs in different channels in mobius, but I have no clue how to send this outputs to the different tracks in ableton live.

Anyone knows how to do this?

Mute whilst in overdub - bug?

Hi folks

Just recently reminded myself of a seemingly inconsistent behaviour, & wondered if anyone else had encountered it; is it a bug? Or am I being perverse?

I frequently use one or two tracks on mobius as single repeat delays. Secondary feedback is enabled, but set to zero (primary feedback is at 127), so when in overdub mode, the audio will be repeated once, then disappear. The result is a kind of canon.

If I mute the track for a while, then perhaps half-a-dozen cycles later unmute it, I get a wall of half-a-dozen full volume overdubs for one cycle until it returns to the one repeat canon thing; it's been overdubbing at level 127 whilst in mute mode.

I suspect it is something in the way secondary feedback & mute are interacting (I haven't experimented with the same procedure on 'normal' feedback with secondary disabled, because I've used the setup this way for years now). It's no biggie - I can do a script workaround - but it's such a strange change of behaviour (I assume mute simply mutes the output of the track), I don't see why it would cause the feedback level to suddenly jump to max, then back again. It just might qualify as a bug. Then again, maybe it's the regular feedback that's doing it, and meant to be.

Hi,

What would be the easiest way to put a click track into a loop, something I can set to a specific tempo, then transfer out to other applications?

I've been experimenting but I am having trouble understanding the syncing documentation. I end up with dead sounds in my loops and such.

Specifically, I am using Propellerhead's Reason to create beats and I would like to put a beat into one of the tracks (set to a tempo), and loop various things within the various tracks over it and then transfer it to pro tools for further editing, where I would assume if would fit with my tempo there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there,
New to the forum here. I've been toying with Mobius for a while, but recently I got Lemur and I'm going deep into both to make a controller for my tablet tailored to my workflow, including extensive midi feedback... the final objective being not having to check the actual mobius gui at all. After quite a few hours and some scripting on both ends it's coming along surprisingly nicely.

My question would be: I'm trying to collect some info for each loop in a track, specifically if they are empty or not, and if not getting their length, but after some time with the documentation and the search funcion in this forum I haven't found a way... surely there's an obvious way to cycle through all loops in a track, but at this point it eludes me... any ideas?

I want to try making math rock with electronics, turntablism, ableton push 2,modular synths.Upon searching for the echoplex I found out about this and could use some tip's on how to get started. Like using it with ableton and why all of a sudden when I press record I can't seem to finish the recording when I press again.

Hello,

I'm returning to Möbius after a bit of a break. It's sad how much I've forgotten after 5 years!

I need to be able to mix quantised and unquantised functions easily. For instance, I'd like to have the option to use quantised sus replace/substitute, unquantised insert, unrounded multiply, etc., all within the same preset. Will the available functions allow me to do this, or will I need to use scripts?

Hello. Mobius seems like it could be really anything you would need in a looper. But with all that flexibility comes a steep learning curve. I'm new to Ableton and Mobius. In Ableton I can loop almost like I want just in clip view but it lacks certain functions like undo, reverse etc. All I need is 4 tracks to loop on with some stacking ability..maybe eventually series if I can set it up. But I cant even get a basic looper set up in Mobius much less to get it working in Ableton...the one midi binding i made(one button to start recording and another push to stop recording on loop one) is gone when I go into the VST. There are so many options I don't know where to start. I've been reading the manual(not the whole thing yet..its huge) Just wondering if there is a basic explanation in detail of how to set up mobius just to be like a basic mulitrack looper like the boomerang? Mobius really seems great but i'm my wits end.Thanks in advance for any help.

REVISED: Basic Boomerang operation in parallel.
All four tracks sync to a master loop.(in my case it will be Ableton)
Everything is quantized in equal divisions.
Press loop one and play your instrument/ press loop one again to stop recording and the loop starts playing. then you can add layers to that by selecting "stack" with a different button and pressing the active loop button. Pressing the button again stops the loop..

When you press record on you second loop track(no matter when) it starts recording at the beginning of the bar of the first loop.

All loops act the same but can be of different lengths but they all quantize.

Holding Down a loop button while its not playing erases the loop.

there is a stop all and start all button to stop and start all loops together independent of the master clock start and stop.

the master start and stop from ableton would override this ^^^^

In series mode

press loop one/play/press loop two and record to loop two.(loop one stops playing when you move to loop two. then you can stack on these loops if you want and toggle between them. up to four different tracks if you want)

Is there any way of making a global mute now script? What I mean by this is you press to mute all tracks and it does it instantly rather than waiting for the whole loop to go round and the same for unmute, is there any way of doing this?

I'm working on making a script for a live song I'm planning on performing, where certain tracks need to be recorded, overdubbed, muted, etc.
I made a script that works fine to switch tracks and record, but I'm having trouble making the script start recording and mute a track at the same time. Whenever try to do this, it mutes the track, waits a loop, and then starts recording the new track.
Here's the script I'm having trouble with:

The intention is to mute track 3 and start recording track 5 at the same time, but it isn't working right :eek:. Any help solving this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Hello. I just installed mobius. I am a multi instrumentalist and electronic musician currently using a hardware setup devices and lots of cabling and a large pedalboard. I have a couple of months off this winter and I'm considering taking that time to revamp my entire rig and change my approach. My goal would be to use Mobius inside of Ableton and have it synced up with clips and effects within Ableton. I'm looking at the soft step as a controller but would be open to other ideas.

What I would like to do Is set Mobius up to behave like the boomerang 3 in all of its modes. From there I would like to expand its features beyond that but based on the general boomerang workflow which I feel is perfect for me. So I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a way to configure Mobius to work like the boomerang? Thanks for any help anyone might have.

I have encountered an issue hosting Mobius on mainstage that I don't believe i have seen elsewhere on the forums.

i have Mobius set as an instrument track side chained to bus 1. mobius reads the audio input, and i can record a loop, however, the loop only plays once. the green circle keeps on spinning, but there is no output.

I'v been tackling problem after problem setting up the software, and I believe that this may be the last hurdle, so any help would be greatly appreciated

hey everyone

Im a mobius noob and love the program but having some trouble with the midi control. i have mobius set as a vst in Ableton 8, i can assign buttons and knobs to whatever i want but it doesn't allow me to save my settings and to keep the midi control settings saved and intact, ive tried saving through mobius but i dont see anything explicit about saving. (or maybe im just stupid and cant find it)

each time i restart ableton i have to redo the midi cc control and assign the buttons again.

ive tried saving the midi cc by saving the vst preset in ableton, it saves it as a file but doesn't keep the midi cc intact.

I'd appreciate the help. thanks

Whats up! I am a Mobius noob, and i have some questions about the initial setup.

I am trying to run mobius as a standalone with mainstage 3. i want to run my guitar, vocals, and synth through mainstage, mainstage to mobius, and mobius to output, but everything i have tried thus far has failed. right now its working as:

Input>>Mainstage>>Output
AND
Input>>Mobius>>Output

this causes a problem as none of the effects used in mainstage are being looped, and mobius doesn't "hear" the synth.

The goal is :

Input>>Mainstage>>Mobius>>Output

I know i can achieve this effect by rerouting my output back into my input, and run that input through mobius, but that is pretty inefficient and i am sure there is a better way.

Hi everyone,
I'm a mobius 2 enthusiast, and a software engineer during the daytime. I was wondering if there has ever been any effort to open-source the software. Personally, I would love to contribute to the project, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Mobius 2 is awesome as it is right now, but software development has changed quite a bit over the years, and I bet that the open-source community could do some really cool things with this software.

I love my Mobius 2 setup... I also have a Gibson Echoplex at home, and I really like the similarities between the software and the Echoplex!

I'm attempting to run Mobius 2.5 in El Capitan on a brand new laptop. For some odd reason, the midi is extremely laggy. To top it off, Mobius cannot see the audio coming in from the Universal Audio interface.

I know audio is coming into the machine, as MainStage runs as it should.

Per, is there any tricks to getting this ancient software working in El Capitan? Get it to see the audio coming in?

I've tried undoing and redoing the preferences, to no avail. Sometimes the midi will catch up. Sometimes it won't.

Any suggestions as to other looping software that would be ideal? Despite what's been in the wind about Mobius going 64bit - its still not here.

Clearing queued functions/events in synchronize mode

Reading through the reference I cannot find any function to remove queued functions/events from a track when in synchronize mode.

The reason I want this type of functionality is because I want a single script that allows me to play/record/overdub/mute a single track. Basically, I want a multiclick on this script to trigger a Mute for the track. However, the script first gets executed as a single click, so after the multiclick occurs, Mute is just queued after some other function (usually overdub), so I have to wait an extra synchronization period before the Mute gets executed. I want to be able to clear the queue and leave just mute in the queue when a multiclick occurs. Alternatively, if there is some way to queue the Mute to happen immediately fter the Overdub and not wait an extra synchronization period, that would work too.

Let me know if you have any tips. Thanks in advance.

Long Delay or ??

Hello

I would like to start out by thanking everyone who posts on this forum. I apologise if the answer to my questions are elsewhere on the forum. I have searched around and the best option I have found so far is to use Mobius as a long delay but I want to see if there are other suggestions.

I am trying to create an interactive piece where I start with a loop (maybe 20 seconds long) and then get audience members to manipulate the loop as it is played using some effects. I am hoping to have the audience manipulated loop become the next loop so that the piece changes over time. For this each loop would not continue, but play once, be manipulated then recorded to become the next loop to be effected.

Also, I think it will require a different method but if the loop is thought of as the dry and the output from the audience is the wet it would be nice to be able to control the amount of each which gets recorded into the next loop.

The audio will be sent out to the audience and manipulated using speakers, mics, and other analog gear.

I'm running a recently updated to windows 10 laptop, 8gb ram, i5 5200u (2.2ghz), 256 SSD, Behringer xr-18 w/ FCB1010 controller.

I am testing out Mobius 2.5 on both Cockos Reaper and Ableton Live. For the first couple of days, everything was running mostly pretty smooth with a few minor glitches. I had noticed from the start of using mobius that some of the gui seems to be at odds with itself, and displays some corrupted looking text as a result around the loop transport area.

I've been running mobius everyday for about 6 hours a day, both practicing and just letting it play loops so make sure it doesn't have any major hiccups as I'm planning on replacing my loop pedals with Mobius. Everything was working smoothly until today.

Firstly, whenever I would hit the pedal for "Next Track" on y FCB, it would skip a track: instead of going from 1 to 2 to 3 etc, like its been doing, now it goes from 1 to 3 to 5. I rebooted and that seemed to fix the error temporarily, but after another wake up from sleep mode, the problem is back and rebooting no longer fixes it.

After a few reboots trying to solve that issue, a new one arose: it seems there is some kind of permenant conflict/corruption between mobius and my laptop displaying the gui that no amount of driver updates on my pc, uninstall/reinstalls of mobius, or experimenting with different modes of operation(stand-alone, vst in reaper/ableton) can seem to fix.

It still functions(records, overdubs, etc) properly but all of the track windows, numbers, and "loop circles" have disappeared.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, the short time I've used mobius (about a week now) and I am really loving what it's capable of!

Hi everybody,
I have a Guitar Setup with three Channels:
Ch1 - Acoustic Guitar Piezo PU
Ch2 - Mag Pickup to Left Amp
Ch3 - Mag Pickup to Right Amp
This is all coming from only one Guitar (with a Piezo and a Mag Pickup installed).
I use this setup for Hybrid Sounds: E-Guitar sounds (Mag Pickup Output through several Stereo Pedals into two Amps) but also a Dry "normal" sounding Acoustic Guitar in the Middle (Piezo Pickup to Acoustic Amp).
Sometimes i make loops with the Acoustic Sound, sometimes with the Stereo Sound and sometimes with all three together.
What would be the best way to setup a Multichannel Track in Mobius? I tried Grouping two Tracks and setting Group Tracks have Focus Lock, but it seems this setting isn't remembered, so it loses it all the time (is it a bug?).
Also when overdubbing, a problem occurs that Mobius doesn't create the same amount of Layers in each of the grouped Tracks, so when undoing, things get messy.
Is there a better way to set up Mobius for this?

Hi folks, and thanks Circularlabs for an amazing plugin! I'm so excited to find other loopers to share ideas and experiences with!

My name is Jonatan Krogh, I'm 25 years and live in Stockholm, Sweden, and I work with acrobatics and dance both teaching, choreographing and performing. I've also played music my entire life, but never really focused too much of it. About 5 years ago i found out about looping, and about 2,5 years ago i found Mobius.

After finding my way to the software loopers I quickly started to work towards an all-inclusive improvisation setup, where i could have all the effects i wanted, and all looping, sampling and mixing functionalities i could think of needing. On top of this i wanted it to run without external power supply, and fit into a small backpack. Since then I've gone through a lot of different hosts and software. First using Sooperlooper and Logic's Mainstage, controlled with a Korg nanoPAD 2. Then Bomes Midi translator in combination with Ableton Live, then i found Mobius which made things a LOT easier, and I went back to Logic using the "environment". Next i found Audiomulch, and also upgraded my controller to a Keith McMillen Quneo. After some study-time I've now moved it over to Plogue Bidule, where i could finally ditch the midi-translation software, and manage the CPU to have an unlimited number of effects accessible.

I've got too many functions to list crammed into this thing now, but some interesting ones are:

- Side-chaining between tracks

- Send tracks separately through output FX

- 4 XY-controlled Effect units on the input, and 4 on the output, each picked from a bank of 32 different effects.

- 32 presets where you can save a combination of 4 effects with their current parameter values

- Resampling: Play with the out-effects and record the result back into Mobius, replacing the old sound or bouncing to a new track.

I'd be glad to answer any questions, and give me a shout if you're working on or have seen something similar! I've only found the Beardytron 5000, but no street-friendly version like this one!

substitute and secondary feedback

Hi all,
I have an issue with Substitute:
when I activate secondary feedback no matter no matter where I set it as it always act as overdub.
So, the only way to make it "cut" and act as replace is to switch secondary feedback off.
I am sure there I have something set wrong somewhere, can you please help me to find it ?

Hello! just got mobius today... My goal is to use mobius live to create loops with the Yamaha Dgx230 portable grand, the idea being to record and playback a section of a song so i can switch to another instrument, and then back.
I am using it stand alone and I have succeeded in syncing mobius to the clock of the Yamaha (mobius reads out the corresponding bpm and marks the passage of measures)
Ive been following the manual closely and I tried arming the record function and starting there but nothing syncs.. it just starts recording.
I believe i have everything configured properly according to the manual
I relatively new at this technology,

At the risk of sounding like a “Doubting Thomas” it has crossed my mind more then once that some members may have ulterior motives other then Mobius and looping. I do find some signature posts somewhat alluding, obfuscated and extraneous.

Sorry, this is a long post, so you may need to sit down before reading. If you don't have a seat I know of a great Office Chairs Manufacture in Delhi that can assist.

Track (and Host) Sync Unit: Loop and instant recording

Hi,

I use the GuitarRig Looper for now and I'm trying to go the "Mobius way" for more features. One thing I would like to be able to do is to record a Master Track and then record other Tracks synchorised with the Master Track. I want the length of the "slave" track loop to be multiple of the Master track loop length. I guess the usual way to do this would be to set Sync Source to Track and Track Sync Unit to Loop. But then when I press record for a "slave" track it waits the end of the master track loop to begin record. I would like that the record starts instantly. Then when I stop my recording it stops so that the recorded loop length will be a multiple of the master track loop. I would like to be able to do the same when using Sync Source Host. It seems to be the way the Guitar Rig looper work and I think it is very "intuitive". Is there a way to do this in Mobius?

I am a bassist with a simple beat pad and a few other odds and ends that I play around with whenever I get the chance.

I have been looking for years to find a software program that had the capabilities of Mobius and I can't believe it took me this long. At least it was well worth the wait. This program is capable of so much more than I ever could have dreamed of.

Before Mobius I had the most backward looping set up you could imagine. The bass wasn't so bad, just fed into an RC-30 then through a Steinberg C1 audio interface and through to Audacity, but the beat pad was a mess; I had it running through it's own program that used the speaker out to feed into the RC-30 which then connected to the C1 interface which came back to the computer and into Audacity, which I used to split the loops into tracks and all that nonsense.

Now it's just the bass or the pad & program, the C1 and Mobius.

Mobius is a godsend. Thank you Jeff!!

Controlling the loop numbers going red via midi?

Is there any way to control the making the loop numbers go red via midi?
I guess I don't know what the parameter name is so I don't know what to assign a CC to.

Hi Jeff and everybody else.

I have only just started with Mobius. I have a Rocktron All Access but the only control number Mobius is responding to is 64. A I write this I realise that I have only tried numbers bellow this, not above, so that may sort it out.

My second problem is that Mobius was still online while I was going through the various parameter changes in my All Access and now mobius won't recognise any midi messages at all. I think I have broken it and I can't seem to find a way to remove it completely from my Mac and start again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm just getting started with mobius and having trouble getting a basic script to work.

The intent behind the script is to change the emptyTrackAction and syncSource so that when I switch to an empty track I can start a new series of loops without having to worry about sticking to the timing of the master track (i.e., for a verse to chorus change). When I switch back to the first loop, I will have a script unmute and set the loop position to the start. If there is an easier way to accomplish verse/chorus switches (without a metronome) I would love to hear.

Anyway, this simple script is not working for me.

Instead, it sets syncSource to the current track index into the syncSource values options (0: default, 1: none, 2: track, 3: out, 4: host, 5: midi). So if I execute this script on track 3, the current syncSource is set to 3.

What am I doing wrong? How should the script actually be written? Thanks for your help in advance.

Can't open Mobius

Hey everyone. I'm new here. I just downloaded Mobius a week or two ago. I was getting familiar with how everything worked. Which means, I really have no idea what I'm doing yet. Anyway, today I had it opened as a VST in Ableton and it "unexpectedly encountered an error" and closed. Now I can't reopen it, as a VST or on it's own. I deleted all folders associated with it and redownloaded. Everything installs fine, but the program will not open. Not as a VST or on it's own.

Any suggestions to fix this? I literally just opened by FCB1010 today. What a bummer.

I am having issues with the Windows 10 display.

Even with the graphic rendering set to 1-1 (Windows 10 has graphic scaling) the Mobius window is much larger than it was in Windows 7 or 8.

It does not draw the controls correctly (overlapping and too large).

Is there a way to correct this with some setting?

Seeing as Windows 10 is Microsoft's "long term" solution, can there be an update of Mobius?

Fast MIDI Messages not handled?

Hi,

I'm trying to use Mobius to emulate a simple Ditto/RC2 looper with one MIDI pedal with some "enhanced" features. I already use this setup successfully with Guitar Rig Looper and Bomes Midi Translator but want to use Mobius now for more features. I try to control Mobius with the same Bomes Midi Translator project just mapping Midi messages in Mobius. This nearly works but it seems to have a problem when I send multiple Midi messages instantly.

That is when I'm in Multiply mode I try to send the Midi Message that trigger the Undo function instantly followed by the Message that trigger the Mute function. The Mute function is not done. If the two messages are sent with some delay between them it works. Is this normal? How can I make it work?

This allows me to accomplish what Glynndub calls horizontal looping. Its not nearly as elegant as I'd like. Mainly because I'd rather not be "recording" to multiple tracks at once. However, after days and days of attempting to get TrackCopyTiming to populate other tracks and loops following the recording of a loop in Track 2 to no avail, I had to resort to the method in my script. So the discussion on this is: How can this be improved so that recording Track 2 loops will populate Tracks 3, 4, & 5 with their respective Loop timings without recording to all of them at once?

This allows me to pause all the tracks (eventually). Then when I un-pause them they're all in sync. Discussion part: How can I get this to pause all tracks instantly? Right now, they each pause when they come to the end of their respective loop. I thought switching Quantize off would do the trick - it doesn't. Anyone know how to pause all immediately?

As the name implies, this allows me to Undo on the current loop that I'm working on. With a long press it allows me to reset all loops and tracks. What I'm not fully grasping is why the Undo requires two taps.

Script to copy timing from a previous loop and track

I'd like to figure out the following for a script.

Let's say I've got a percussive loop on Loop 1 Track 1.

Then I record various loops (i.e. parts of a song) to Loop 1, Loop 2, Loop 3, etc on Track 2.

I'd like to go to Loop 1, Track 3 and have it copy the timing from Loop 1 Track 2 with "blank" audio, then go into Overdub mode, rather than record. Same for Loop 2 Track 3, it would copy the timing from Loop 2 Track 2. And so on.

Same thing with Track 4's loops, they'd copy their respective timing and when I select them I could overdub on them as well.

Any suggestions on how I'd tackle the code for that?

I'm not sure how to grab the time value of a loop after the fact and apply it to another loop before I overdub to it.

Okey, I like this new patch. Brings stuff needed as well as add something new to the game... buuuuut, what the hell happened with the game eninge? Now you have severe micro stuttering and with the latest patch a HUGE performance dip. I used to play int 2716x1516 at a rock solid 60fps, now it struggles to stay at 60fps even for a second and plunges down to 41-42 in some areas.

I've tried three different drivers and it's all the same. I can also notice that for some reason it draws insanely much more power now than before. My water cooled system draws an average of almost 100w more now than before. Just what have you done to the game?!

Hi guys,
I'm trying to make Mobius (standalone) work properly for me, but I'm stuck with one thing, maybe very simple:

sometimes I want the looper to stop playing all the tracks at the same time when I trigger a MIDI cc, including the master track, in order for me to let them play again from the beginning at another trigger. I saw that in Mobius there is the function Pause (or Global Pause), but they don't work as I say.
I just need to stop (not pause) all the tracks together, even in the middle of the loop, and to make them start from the beginning.

I tried also with scripts, but 'til now it didn't work for me.

Any suggestion?

I'm new here and new to Mobius. Hello!

I have Logic and Mobius set up as pictured and I'm a bit confused as to how to get it working. I couldn't see a definitive beginners' guide anywhere in the documentation or on the forum, so I thought I'd come right out and ask.

As you can see, audio is coming into the "Input" audio channel, but despite this being routed to Bus 1 (labelled, "To MOBIUS") which is routed to Mobius' sidechain, no sound seems to be hitting Bus 1 or Mobius.

In addition, I can't hear the input audio and I can see by watching the meters that there's about 2.5s of latency, despite Logic being set to 32 samples.

I am very aware that I may be doing multiple silly things, but I've genuinely tried for the last few hours to fathom it on my own and I'm at a loss. Ultimately I'd like to be able to record my loop jams onto separate audio tracks (which is why I'm using Logic instead of Mainstage), which I presume is achieved by creating Multi-Output auxes and routing them to audio tracks... but that's a story for another day!

Any help would be amazing. I'm really gagging to have a play! :-)

I've just spent an afternoon trying to get a FCB1010 to talk to mobius. I can't get it to do anything useful. I've tried setting up record, nothing happens, I can get track changes to work but that's all. If I had any hair I'd be ripping it out & the FCB1010 is about to take flying lessons if I can't get this working.
Please please can someone post an idiots guide to this, I've searched everywhere and nothing I've found yet works. I've watched vids, read instructions but no luck.
Please save my sanity.

HELP Track setup doesnt work?

Hi guys, im testing mobius in my rig for a couple of days.

I want to have the first track with sync source in OUT mode and use mobius as master and ableton as slave. The other tracks sync source set up to track. I cant figure out how to change one track without changing the others. Yesterday i was able to change tracks configurations individualy from the graphic interface (no menus) and was working and now when i change one the others change too.

What i am doing wrong?

In track setup in the tracks submenu i have all the tracks setted up ok. 1 with sync source in OUT mode and the rest in TRACK mode. But mobius ignore that and uses default configuration setted up in synchronization tab.

Any help would be apreciated

No 64bit? Has Mobius been abandoned?

Just wondering? I was really hoping (need to actually) to use Mobius within Logic Pro X (on Yosemite) as a plug in. It sounds like maybe this can be done by spending money on 32-Lives but I'd rather give that money to the creator of Mobius for a native 64bit version.

Is there a timetable for this? Like I said, I would pay for 64bit Mobius. Do we need a kickstarter campaign to get some momentum?

Does anyone use Mobius controlled by Fcb1010 with Eurekaprom inside?

It seams really easy but I don't know how to do with Eurekaprom2. (I think the guy use in the video an fcb1010 with the stock prom instead).

When pedal button is pressed, while in Mobius Configuration Midi bindings has been opened (like shown in the vid), It doesn't create any Trigger value by itself.
It creates so called Trigger ( for example: 1:C -2) when I click on New (GUI button), but they seems they can't trigger anything. Nothing happen.

I wrote a similar thread in the Eurekaprom forum too.
I wish someone was able to help.

Logical OR/AND? Multiple "if" conditions? Is there such a thing?

I'm working on a script that should enable me to Overdub, Multiply or Undo using the same button, depending on how long I keep it pressed.

Overdub (<500ms)
Multiply (500-1500ms)
Undo (@2000ms)

But in order to call Multiply in the mentioned interval and not just in 500ms window of time as it is now, I need to be able to say something like this:
if sustainCount = 1 OR sustainCount = 2

The exact way to achieve what I want is not that important. If there some other way to do it, please say it.

In general I'm interested in how to write more complex if statements involving OR/AND logical operators. The manual currently says nothing about it (if section is empty).

EDIT: I'm aware that I can duplicate the statement, first time for sustainCount=1 and second time for sustainCount=2 and say it to do the same thing (call Multiply), and it'll do for such a simple script, but it will soon become a bad practice when I go about writing some more complex scripts, so it's better that I know about it right away.

Bug report: "Max loops per track" setting, can't change it from the GUI

I don't know whether it is bug or I'm doing something wrong, but here it is:

In Global parametars, when I try to change Max Loops Per Track from 4 (default) to something else, in my case 1 (beucase I only need one loop per track for what I'm doing), it won't save it to mobius.xml. It doesn't change anything.

What I've done is to edit mobius.xml directly where I've set loopCount to "1". And it works, now there is only one loop per track in the GUI.
But when I go to preferences I still see it's set to "4", so there is some problem with loading and saving the setting going on there. Before I've had some issues with changing the value, but when I would restart Mobius it would be reset to its default value (4).

There is only one preset I'm using so it's not like I'm modifying the Default preset but using my own custom so it doesn't get applied.

Hi there, my name is Jody Whitesides. I decided to build a custom foot pedal for live performance. See image below.

The intended use is for running MainStage for both my full band electric guitar rig (of which I use MainStage as my amp and effects) and for solo acoustic shows for full on live arrangements of my songs with looping.

A little research led me to wanting to use Mobius for its power. Of course I'm running into the daunting task of figuring out the best method of use - i.e. making it easy to use with my controller.

Currently have it about halfway working, a couple more scripts and I think I'll be ready to fly. Would be so much easier if the manual for Mobius' functions was more complete. Right? ;-)

A simple script: Overdub/Undo (or whatever else you might want) with the same button

Hi, I just wanted to share with you a simple script that I've written.

My MIDI controller has only 4 buttons so I have to be creative with how I use them. I thought it would be worthwile to combine Overdub and Undo functions on the same button, so you press the button quickly (short press) to Overdub and if you make a mistake you press the same button a little longer (long press) and you Undo it, and press it again quickly to Overdub again, this time correctly (if you're lucky, if not, repeat steps :) )

You don't do a tap dance when you make a mistake :)

If nothing else, you've saved one button.

If you want some other functions to be performed with the same button, just replace Overdub and Undo with what you find necessary (ie. Undo/Redo, Pause/Mute, ..). Look up the name in the MIDI binding window.

** Note that "short press" function is called when the button is de-pressed (ie. you raise your foot from footswitch) so it might be awkward for functions whose timing is very critical (like very first Record - but you probably won't use it for that).
I don't think this can be fixed since it's from the time itself (of button being pressed) that the computer concludes whether the press is long or short. But you can press and depress a button very quickly and see if it's good enough.

I know how bad programming Mobius can be. I'm a programmer but I've still had a somewhat tedious and difficult time going through (unfinished) manual and figuring out all the concepts and stuff. And if you're not into computers (a lot) and go read about scripting because somebody told you to it's probably like "what the hell is this?? :confused:". This is one of the very basic scripts that everbody will appreciate.

Mute, Undo, Reset & Copy Timing Scripts

I'm working on wrapping my head around Mobius. Its not as intuitive as I would have hoped. I've built a custom foot controller that I was intending to use with MainStage and also Mobius (see pic).

You'll notice I've labeled buttons and such. Right now I have the loop buttons corresponding to loops on my tracks (2-5) as Group A and when I hit loop 1, they all move to loop 1, loop 2 moves them all to loop 2, etc...

I was able to cobble together a play/rec/overdub script from some of the people's posts here. That works reasonably well. Its a little wonky sometimes.

I'd like to do a couple of different things:

1. I need help with a Mute Script. I'd like to hit a button ("stop" as its labeled) on my controller - and have all loops mute/stop. This seems to only work on one track at a time via the global function.

2. I need help with an Undo Script. So that when I step on undo - it actually undoes the last recording. For some reason, this isn't working via the global function.

3. I need help with a Clear/Reset Script. I'd like to click a button and have all tracks reset to blank. The global version of this doesn't work.

I'm using Track 1 as my groove/percussion track with a single loop. I've got 4 other tracks (2-5) set up with 4 loops each. I can create a percussive loop on Track 1 as I would expect to. Then I can click on next track to move to Track 2 and hit loop 1 to move to loop 1. I can record a loop there. But this is where I run into trouble. I cannot seem to copy timing of loops to Tracks (3 - 5). Thus if I record say loop 1, 2, 3 in Track 2. Then a loop in Track 3 loop 2. I will have trouble when playing it all back. Because Track 3 loop 1 doesn't exist, it will switch out of time from Track 2 loop 1 and then things get out of sync.

4. I need help with a Copy Timing script. I saw the one posted here. But its based on Track 1. Plus, when I attempt to modify it and use it only for Tracks 2-5, it locks up Mobius and renders all my buttons unable to do anything. Is there a better way to set up Verse/Chorus/Bridge/Etc via recording? One that makes sense? Should this be scripted?

There it is in a nutshell. If I can figure these things out with your help, I'd be greatly appreciative.

p.s. - is there a way to get all the loops to get back in sync if one of them gets out of sync? Like a global - start loops from beginning thing?
