I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
1968 Airstream Caravel 17’
The trailer is in very nice condition for the year.
This floor plan was only offered with the front angled dinette for 1 year and very few were made. I searched for over 8 years to find one in this condition and year. This is the last year of what I consider the classic style of the Airstream with the tapered back shell and plywood cabinets.
The aluminum body was high polished 11 years ago and has very few dings, dents and scratches.
The axle, bearings and brakes are in great condition and the trailer tows straight and smooth.
The underbelly aluminum sheeting was dropped 2 years ago for a waste discharge tube repair and the frame was inspected and is in great condition with no cracks or excessive rust.
The interior is mostly original with different upholstery and newer kitchen counter, table top and sliding roof locker laminates.
The original furnace is not in working order but the unit has a catalectic LP heater that works great.
The refrigerator works on electric but needs servicing and maintenance for LP
The Cooktop works but the oven pilot does not light.
The Air Conditioner was fired in September of this year and is in working order. The condensate pan will drip if the trailer is not level.
There is a soft spot in the floor next to the battery in the outside compartment and one behind the refrigerator.
The roof was resealed 2 years ago and there are no know leaks currently.
I am including a Reese weight distribution hitch system with 2†ball.
I have 2 sets of keys for the entry door, compartment door, refrigerator compartment, hitch lock and LP lock.
The Bergman L100 Entry door lock system was rebuilt 2 years ago.
