I'm replacing the floor on my '70, 21'. While removing the old floor I discovered a sheet of alum between the plywood and the frame. There was one in the front of the AS between the frame members and the first cross member. There was no insulation under that part of the floor. The other piece was between the plywood and the step mechanism.
The plywood in front was rotten (from leaks) but also from the condensation between the plywood and alum.
Can anyone tell me why these are here and also why there was no insulation under the floor? I'm sure that they were installed at the factory and not from a PO.
