During an inspection under the van, I noticed something hanging down between the generator and axle. It was the unshielded rubber gas supply hose to the generator. And it was about four times longer than it should have been, hanging freely just a couple of inches above the ground. Airstream apparently used a too long hose and tied it to something that had since come loose. In any event, it was not only close to the ground but also rubbing against the axle with no protection at all-and if the gas valve is open could lead to a fire or worse.
I had it replaced by the Onan dealer with a higher quality and correct length hose.
I would recommend you have your Interstate inspected to be sure the hose is not in the same condition and location, and if so, replace it.
Another great job by Airstream installers to add to the list.
