Title: 1959 Airstream Globetrotter 18 - Virginia
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
For Sale: An adorable little Vintage 1959 Airstream Travel Trailer in very good condition. Attended the International Airstream Rally in Gillette, WY and just returned from a cross country trip. The Airstream was a great traveler and seems like it didn't want to stop! We are a retired couple and need something a little bigger.
We have owned this trailer for many years and have enjoyed it immensely. I gave it to my wife several years ago as a 25th anniversary (SILVER) present. It has created lots of good memories for both of us.
As you will see in the interior pictures, the walls have the original Zolatone finish. All the paneling is original as is the cabinetry, doors, sink, stove, countertops, etc. As shown in the pictures, it still has the original lifetime warranty mounted on the inside of one of the cabinet doors. The frig has been updated and it also includes a small countertop microwave. The bed is full size at the rear and the gaucho makes into another full bed. As you can see in the photographs, the trailer is in great condition, considering that it is 55 years old. It has the normal wear, minor scratches and dings one would normally expect from a trailer itâs age. We wouldnât have taken it on a 9,000 + mile cross country trip if it wasnât in good shape.
This is a very cozy and compact trailer, easy to tow and easy to maneuver. The trailer itself is approximately 15 feet long, plus an additional 3 feet for the hitch for a total of 18 feel. It has all the charm of the 1950â²s and was the predecessor to the Bambi which came out in the early 1960â²s. It is a rare trailer since the smaller Airstreams are hard to find, especially in this condition.
If anyone is seriously considering purchasing this trailer, please let us know ASAP, as we plan to start winterizing the trailer in the next 30 days. We're only 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, if you happen to be traveling that way through VA. You can contact us by phone (please leave a message if we don't answer) or via e-mail â blaircl2003@yahoo.com.
Thanks! Steven Blair
